What is Experience Retail?

Experience retail is shopping-led entertainment. As a result of changes in consumer behaviour resulting from changes in their needs, wants and aspirations, shopping is now more of a leisure activity.

It's more about fun and entertaining experiences than about basic needs. It's being combined with leisure and recreation experiences.

And increasingly it's all being found in one place as developers respond to consumer time pressures and demands for convenience.

In consequence we believe there will be demand for places that combine attractors of retail, leisure, recreation, sports, entertainment and cultural facilities  destinations of choice where consumers will spend their time and money.

These will be found increasingly in city centres, in particular on waterfronts and adjacent to the great public squares and gathering places, and at the major points of interchange on the public transport system and the major road networks.
