The company behind a proposed retail park in northern Scotland has submitted its plans for this development to the local council.
Developer Redco Milne is seeking planning approval from Moray Council for its proposed £25 million retail park in Forres, the Forres Gazette has reported, which will include a supermarket, a petrol station and other shops.
Redco already owns a former Tesco site in the area and is negotiating with residential properties and a local business about either buying them out or helping them relocate, as their premises may need to be demolished to free up land for the development.
Company directors Paul Gee and Malcolm Deans remarked: "We believe our retail proposal achieves a balance of providing what the town desperately needs, such as non-food retailing units and national stores, while enhancing the already vibrant high street.
"We are pleased to submit our planning application today which has been shaped by the views of Forres residents."
Youth facilities, all-weather pitches and a new stadium for local club Forres Mechanics could all later be built using funds from the sale of the commercial land, but plans for a hotel, garden centre and visitor centre have been dropped from the design.
