Companies sign contract to design football stadium

20/11/2008

Two companies have signed a contract to design the new football club premises for Tottenham Hotspur FC in north London.

Make and KSS will develop the eight hectare scheme which will include the club's current White Hart Lane ground and an adjacent industrial estate.

There will also be public space, a club museum, shops and a base for the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation which is the club's community organisation.

Make, owned by Ken Shuttleworth, will devise the masterplan for the 60,000-seat venue and design 500 homes for the development.

Architect KSS will create plans for the stadium while Martha Schwartz will be the landscape architect and engineer Buro Happold will work on the stadium's design.

The redevelopment will remove two listed buildings - Warmington House and Fletcher House - to make way for the new constructions.

Make won a Certificate of Merit at the Structural Steel Design Awards this year for its project at 55, Baker Street in London.
